A state of emergency related to the spread of COVID-19 will begin in the Czech Republic on Monday. It was introduced by the government on Wednesday and is expected to run for 30 days. It will be accompanied by new restrictions that will affect the functioning of schools and the number of participants in cultural, sports and social events.

In Ukraine, on Friday, 4,661 coronavirus infections were detected, 92 patients died – these are the highest daily balances since the beginning of the pandemic. 2,146 people recovered and 877 infected were hospitalized, said the Ukrainian Minister of Health, Maksym Stepanov, on Saturday.

Friday is the fourth day in a row with a record number of infections. The highest number of infections was detected that day in Kharkiv (516) and Kiev (441).
