The Czech Ministry of Health announced on Saturday another record increase in the number of people infected with the coronavirus – 3,793 cases were confirmed on Friday, 300 more than on Thursday, when the previous highest number of infections was recorded.

There are currently 42,320 infected people in the Czech Republic. The number of deaths from COVID-19 on Friday increased by 12 to 699. Since the start of the epidemic, a total of 78,000 have been reported in the country. SARS-CoV-2 infections, of which 13,466 this week. The disease is mild in most people who are infected. There are 1,134 COVID-19 patients in hospitals. The condition of 221 of them was assessed by doctors as severe.

The most difficult situation is still in the area of ​​the city of Uherske Hradisztie in the Zlin country (province), where 341 infections per 100 thousand people were recorded within seven days. residents. On the poviat map of epidemic threats, which the Ministry of Health updated on Friday, there are no more regions that would be considered completely safe.

The CTK agency has published a summary showing the daily increase in infections in the neighboring countries of the Czech Republic and in Hungary per million citizens within 14 days. It shows that on October 2 this indicator was 354.8 in the Czech Republic; 32.2 in Germany; in Poland 60.4. High increases concern Slovakia – 124.4 and Hungary – 135.3.

A state of emergency related to the spread of COVID-19 will begin in the Czech Republic on Monday. It was introduced by the government on Wednesday and is expected to run for 30 days. It will be accompanied by new restrictions that will affect the functioning of schools and the number of participants in cultural, sports and social events.

In Ukraine, on Friday, 4,661 coronavirus infections were detected, 92 patients died – these are the highest daily balances since the beginning of the pandemic. 2,146 people recovered and 877 infected were hospitalized, said the Ukrainian Minister of Health, Maksym Stepanov, on Saturday.

Friday is the fourth day in a row with a record number of infections. The highest number of infections was detected that day in Kharkiv (516) and Kiev (441).
