Alappuzha – One more person has been arrested in the counterfeiting case, in which M. Jishamol, an officer of Edavatwa Agriculture, is accused. Anil Kumar (48) was arrested at Thrikunapuzha Pallana room in Mabani. At the same time, it has been almost confirmed that all the 4 persons arrested by the Walayar police in the case of trying to extort the Palakkad tube money are related to this fake currency transaction. Their arrest was not recorded in the counterfeiting case.
Palakkad arrested Jisha’s friend A. Ajeesh Kumar (25), Avalukun Karuvaraparam Sreekumar (42), Kalath Tharailveli S. Shanil (38) and Aryad Kandathi Gokulraj (27) at the house of Jisha’s friend Alappuzha Gurupuram Thekeveli. The police informed that more information will be available only after taking them into custody and interrogating them. The accused who were produced in the court were remanded for 14 days.
The Walayar police said that the accused who will be taken into custody for evidence collection will be handed over to the Alappuzha police through the court as part of the investigation of the counterfeit note case. 3 people, including Jisha, have been arrested so far in the counterfeiting case. Anil Kumar was arrested yesterday by a team led by South Police Station Inspector VD Rejiraj.
Suresh Babu was arrested in Haripad Chingoli Velliserthara last day. Both have been arrested earlier in the same case. It is reported that they were being handed fake notes by a money laundering group. However, the source of the fake notes could not be traced.
