Another incident on the track: A passenger train near Prague had an express train in its back

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon after a passenger train and an express train passed a signal in Černošice on a green signal shortly after each other. According to the News, the operator had to change the signal to “stop” after passing the passenger train, which, however, did not seem to have happened.

Shortly after the passenger train, an express train from Klatovy to Prague passed along the same track. Even before Prague, however, according to information from Novinky, the driver of the express train noticed that he was approaching from behind a passenger train running on the same track. The train therefore stopped and reported the incident.

An inspector of the Railway Administration (SŽ), who deals with the whole matter, then set out for Černošice. “The train was stopped by a radio block. We are currently investigating the whole situation, “said spokeswoman Radka Pistoriusová. The radio block is a security device that allows you to stop a train remotely via a dispatcher.

Due to an incident on the line, the barriers at the railway crossing remained in Černošice, which caused a column on the road between Prague and Řevnice shortly after the incident. Traffic was diverted by city police officers.

The railways introduced alternative bus transport between Prague and Dobřichovice.

This was another incident on the railroad in recent days, two trains collided on Friday in Běchovice near Prague, when a moving passenger car hit a standing express train. The passenger train was traveling for passengers from a parked commuter train that had previously knocked down pedestrians on the track.

The tragic consequences on Tuesday had a collision on the line between Pernink and Nový Hamry in the Karlovy Vary region, where two passenger trains collided head-on. The accident left two dead and 24 injured.
