Another horror from the authors Until Dawn takes us to the desert »Vortex

Developers from the British studio Supermassive Games (Until Dawn, Hidden Agenda) are already enticing us for the next part of their episodic horror series The Dark Pictures Anthology. The first part, subtitled Man of Medan, was released last August. Although the authors wanted to release new episodes every six months, we waited until this week for a new Little Hope. It was released on October 30. And as before, this time the end hid the first hint of another adventure.

One of the roles will be performed by the American actress and singer Ashley Tisdale, who became famous thanks to the series Musical from High School.

It is worth remembering that each episode of The Dark Pictures Anthology comes with its own heroes (the only exception is the character of the narrator, the so-called curator) and a story inspired by a real scary story or legend. As Little Hope concluded, the third part will be called House of Ashes and one of the roles will be played by the American actress and singer Ashley Tisdale, who became famous thanks to the High School Musical series.

It seems that this time a slightly more exotic environment awaits us and we will go somewhere in the desert. Which is quite a coincidence, given that we recently visited the sandy area in the horror film Amnesia: Rebirth by the Swedish studio Frtictional Games. His review has already been filmed and we will bring it to you in the coming week. Some are already trying to estimate the place, and Afghanistan, for example, is often mentioned. Rather, it seems that the main “enemy” will be a demon from Sumerian-Akkadian mythology named Pazúz. Then we would go to the area of today’s Iraq, Syria or Iran.

As in Until Dawn, all characters can survive here, but any of them can die. The story branches, has many variations and can be enjoyed in cooperation.

The Dark Pictures Anthology series should have at least eight parts. The titles from this anthology are the spiritual successors of the interactive horror film Until Dawn. The developers wanted even a shorter episodic game to have audiovisual processing like AAA projects. As in Until Dawn, all characters can survive here, but any of them can die. The story branches, has many variations and can be enjoyed in cooperation.

The question is whether the new addition to the anthology will look at other platforms as well, specifically the new generation of consoles. The game should be released next year. However, some players have already reacted critically to the non-traditional announcement in the sense that in the end it turns out that the supernatural plays no role in the story, and again we will see a logical explanation of all events. But if this is the intention of the developers, it must be accepted as a fact.
