According to Flegr, schools should not open this school year. “I think we should move the summer holidays to this winter,” he suggested a potential solution. According to him, in this situation it is better for children to learn in summer and to have holidays in winter.
“Within 14 days, there may be a similar collapse as in Italy. I am afraid that if the measures do not work better, we will not avoid it,” Flegr said. According to him, the measures definitely do not work.
According to Flegr, it is realistic that doctors will have to choose who to connect to the devices. In other words, who will be saved and who can succumb to the disease without help. “This is something that doctors can carry with them all their lives,” he added.
“If we let asymptomatic people run around freely, there will still be so many cases that the hospital will be overwhelmed. At a certain stage, so many of those patients will come to the hospitals that it will all collapse,” said the biologist.
According to the professor, graduation is not a solution at all. “We would sacrifice thousands of people’s lives when we graduated,” he said. According to him, there will be a vaccine by Christmas.
