Another forest fire in the Offenbach district

Offenbach/Main. In the vicinity of the Hessian town of Hainburg (Offenbach district), a forest fire broke out again within a short period of time.

An area of about 5000 square meters was in flames on Sunday afternoon. It was the fourth fire in the area this weekend that the fire brigade had to fight. “We have evidence that it is arson,” said a police spokesman.

On Friday, the first fire was reported from a forest in the district of Hainburg’s Hainstadt district. Police suspect the fire was intentionally set. Six other fires had been fought in the forest since March. In the last case, plant waste stored there at the Seligenstadt building yard burned at night. Again, police say it’s unlikely the fire was self-igniting. There are only a few kilometers between the two fire sites.

Early on Saturday morning – this time again in Hainstadt – a lumber store in a garden was on fire. According to the police, the wood stored there and the shelter burned down completely. Several trees also caught fire.
