The Red Flames also lost their second European Championship qualifier. The Belgian women were wiped off the mat in Denmark fifteen minutes before half time. On the hour mark, the Flames seemed to be heading for another disgrace, but then they bounced back thanks to goals from Kees and Delacauw. A remount was no longer possible, so 0 out of 6 still constitutes a new tick.

39′ Vangsgaard: 2-0

72′ Delacauw: 4-2
After the solid 0-7 against world champion Spain, the match in Denmark was important, mentally and for the final position in the European Championship qualification.
The Danes started with their foot on the accelerator, but that yielded little. Belgium responded by creating some chances themselves. They also lacked power and precision.
It became increasingly difficult for the Red Flames to keep the ball in the team. The first goal conceded did not come out of the blue. Vangsgaard was best positioned on a corner and headed in unorthodoxly.
The Denmark striker was accurate again 10 minutes later, as the Belgians were unable to gain a foothold.
This time Vangsgaard was able to head from close range. She trumped Sari Kees and was therefore not threatened.
It didn’t end at 2-0 before halftime. Svava was already good for the assist for the second goal and also scored himself. Goalkeeper Lichtfus was surprised by a shot in the short corner.
Get well soon in the last half hour
The Red Flames walked into the locker room with a three-headed blow. They didn’t come out with better football.
The speed in the Belgian game was missing. As a result, there was regular Danish danger. Lichtfus avoided the 4-0 a few times.
Just after the hour mark, the Danes scored again. Frederikke Thogersen scored the best goal of the evening with a curled shot past Lichtfus.
It seemed like it would be a punishment for the Flames, but it never came. They quickly made it 4-1. A cross from Deloose was extended by Vanhaevermaet and Sari Kees fumbled the ball into the goal.
And it didn’t stop there. Five minutes later, the lights went out for the Danish goalkeeper Ostergaard. She let the ball slip out of her hands and let Delacauw make it 4-2.
Pushing forward was the task for the Flames to ensure a historic comeback. It did not work.
Marie Detruyer did hit the post with a dangerous cross. Denmark’s trembling defense did not give away more chances.
This way, the 3 points remain in Scandinavia and Denmark takes the lead in the group with a perfect report, next to Spain, which won 3-1 against the Czech Republic.
It will be difficult for the Belgians to reach the top 2. Only the first two of the group go directly to the European Championship. Otherwise it will be a longer route via the jump-offs.

Denmark – Belgium
END: 0 out of 6 for Red Flames
The Red Flames suffer their second defeat in a row. They go down in a goal-rich duel. Denmark took a solid lead: 4-0. The Red Flames fought back with better and faster football. The two goals are mainly honorary goals, but can also be important in the long term for European Championship qualification.
Despite frantic efforts, the Red Flames no longer create real opportunities. Jill Janssens still shoots (high). The match will end 4-2.
3 more minutes
Getting a point won’t work. A third goal could be important in the long term. The Flames get 3 minutes of added time for that.
3 Danish bills
Denmark buys some time with a triple substitution. Moller, Veje and Kühl go to the side. Troelsgaard, Faerge and Gejl join in.
Too few opportunities
Everything goes faster for visitors, but they can no longer find the goal. Confidence is back in Denmark and the Flames do not get any goal chances.
The mental advantage currently lies with the Belgians, but Denmark seems to have recovered from the double tap. The three points will probably remain in Scandinavia.
Two fresh Flames
There will be two new names on the field again. Davina Philtjens and Jarne Teulings are allowed to play football for a while.
The Red Flames have the match in hand, but the end is approaching. They still have about 10 minutes to score two goals. The Danish stress is present at the back.
Shaking again for Denmark, cross flutters against the post
Almost 4-3!
A cross from Detruyer curls dangerously towards the goal. Delacauw lets the ball run and it hits the post. Denmark is doing well here.
Gele kaart Vangsgaard
There is little evidence of the Danish pleasure. The two goals conceded did no good. Amalie Vangsgaard briefly expresses her frustrations and receives a yellow card.
Is it still possible? Delacauw punishes the goalkeeper’s mistake and scores the second Belgian goal
4-2: Delacauw benefits from a mistake
There’s that 4-2! An apparently harmless cross still creates danger. Goalkeeper Ostergaard lets an easy ball slip out of her hands. Feli Delacauw is completely free and simply kicks in.
With 20 minutes left on the clock, a comeback is almost impossible. A quick 4-2 can cause Danish stress.
The Flames then give something back: 4-1 via Kees
4-1: Frommelgoal is an honorable goal
With some success it becomes 4-1 in Vilborg. Vanhaevermaet can extend a cross with his head. Sari Kees follows the ball well and pushes the ball in with a few taps.
After the goal, goalscorer Svava was taken to the side. Janni Thomsen is her replacement.
