Bpost announced on Tuesday that financial director Leen Geirnaerdt will leave the company in mid-November. It is the umpteenth departure at the top at Bpost.

Leen Geirnaerdt was only financial director at Bpost since May 2019. However, after a little more than two years, she decides to give up. Bpost announced this in a press release on Tuesday evening. The postal company does not report the reason for Geirnaerdt’s departure.
‘I would like to expressly thank Leen for her efforts. (…) I have every confidence in the Finance Team, which will help support the growth of the Bpost group and ensure continuity pending the appointment of a new financial director’, says CEO Dirk Tirez. “We are ready for our main priority for the coming months, which is to efficiently manage the end-of-year peak. In the meantime, we are continuing our transformation to become a future-proof, fully-fledged logistics partner for customers, citizens and employees.’
Bpost has already appointed a headhunting company to find a successor for Geirnaerdt. The Remuneration and Nomination Committee will evaluate the shortlist later this month with a view to ultimately selecting a new CFO.
Bpost has been struggling with an underutilization at the top of the company for some time. In a year’s time, Bpost lost a third of its top executives. One of Tirez’s challenges is to stop that idleness.
