A 4-year-old autistic boy apparently fell from his home yesterday in New Rochelle (NY).

Local police are investigating the reported case at Parkside Place, a building located at 570 Fifth Ave. near Flowers Park. The boy’s parents called 911 saying that his son was missing and had possibly run away from his apartment.

Officers searched for the boy and found him lying in the grass unconscious and gasping for breath. He was given first aid until firefighters and first responders arrived to take him to a hospital, where he is currently in Critical but stable condition.

Authorities say the boy appears to have fallen from an unknown height, and at this time the exact place where this happened is unknown. The investigation of the incident is open and the parents are cooperating with the investigation, he said. News 12.

In a similar case with a more tragic ending, last saturday a baby 3-year-old died after falling from the 29th floor balcony of his home in Harlem (NYC).
