MONTREAL — Another building in Montreal was the target of firearm projectiles, this time early Friday night in the Sainte-Marie district, in eastern Montreal.
Around 1:30 a.m., a call to the 911 emergency telephone exchange reported that shots had sounded near the intersection of rue Ontario Est and avenue des Érables, opposite Pierre-Dupuy high school.
Upon their arrival, police officers from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) saw projectile casings on the ground in front of the building, which showed traces of shooting in two places.
A security perimeter has been erected in this residential and commercial sector. The canine squad and forensic identification technicians were requested as reinforcements and investigators were to try to shed light on what happened.
No arrests had been reported by late night. No injuries were reported.
