Jeremy, who plays in the same position as his father, is the third family member to join the New Jersey organization, as his older brother Anthony was drafted by the team in the seventh round (208e in total) in 2013.
This is a second stint with the Devils for Jeremy Brodeur, since he was loaned to the American League school club in 2018-2019, not playing any game there.
The 24-year-old has been playing in the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) for two years, a circuit that operates in the southern states of the United States. Last year with the Peoria Rivermens, he maintained a 5-1 record, in addition to spending time with clubs from Hungary and England.
Brodeur previously obtained tries with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, New York Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs. After his junior career, he played in the Premier AA Hockey League (ECHL), but never played at a higher level.
Binghamton also announced the signing for one year of Quebecer Danick Martel. The former Blainville-Boisbriand Armada shared the last season between the Syracuse Crunch and the Springfield Thunderbirds in the American League.
The 26-year-old left winger has two points in 13 National Hockey League games. Never drafted, he wore the uniforms of the Philadelphia Flyers and the Tampa Bay Lightning.
