The reactivation operations, explains the company, “required the intervention on the spot of specialized operators, who will have to dig to repair the portion of the network affected by the fault”.
The company apologizes for the inconvenience, “aware that the interventions could last a few hours”. The cause of the failures, according to Unareti, is the excessive increase in energy consumption, due to high temperatures and therefore to the greater use of air conditioners: an increase, in the last two days, of 25% compared to last week.
“To overcome the inefficiencies that can occur in the presence of increases in load on the network – explains Unareti – huge investments are required that require long times to be completed. For this reason and to support the growing demand for electricity by the Città, Unareti has progressively increased investments on the Milan network “.
