Five co-financing agreements for the construction of roads from European funds were signed between the Center for EU Transport Projects (CUPT) and the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKIA). Their total value is over PLN 2.3 billion – said Minister of Finance Tadeusz Kościński on a teleconference on Friday.

“Today we are signing five more contracts for co-financing from the Infrastructure and Environment Program. The most important of them is undoubtedly the construction of the next section of A1 Częstochowa-Tuszyn. Thanks to the implementation of this investment, the road from Gdańsk to the Czech border will have the parameters of a motorway “- said the minister.
He added that the projects would improve road fluidity and safety across the country and would benefit residents and local and national businesses.
“Thanks to the contracts signed today, we have contracted, in the Infrastructure and Environment program, over 90 percent. all funds provided for the implementation of the program “- stressed Kościński.
The contracts signed on Friday concern the co-financing of the construction of the A1 motorway from the end of the Częstochowa bypass to Tuszyn, the S3 route from Mięków to Brzozów, the Tomaszów Lubelski bypass along the S17, the Kępno bypass along the S11 and the Niemodlin bypass.
Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Rafał Weber, present at the conference, said that so far the Center for EU Transport Projects has concluded 68 contracts with GDDKiA for a total amount of almost PLN 38 billion.
“We look at road investments through the prism of development, therefore we consistently implement them. (…) There are new challenges ahead of us. We want the next EU perspective or the funds from the National Reconstruction Program (…) to be also used for infrastructure projects “- he emphasized.
In turn after. Director of GDDKiA Tomasz Żuchowski informed that by the end of this year the management intends to submit applications for co-financing for the construction of the Kędzierzyn-Koźle bypass and a part of the S1 route between Podwarpie and Dąbrowa Górnicza.
The construction of the A1 motorway from the end of the Częstochowa bypass to Tuszyn is to cost over PLN 3.5 billion, and the EU funding will amount to almost PLN 1.7 billion. The road, over 80 km long, is to be made available to drivers from 2022. Completion of the construction of this section will mean the closing of the construction of the motorway from Gdańsk to the Czech border.
The cost of the S3 express road on the Brzozowo-Miękowo section is over PLN 436 million, of which over PLN 191 million is EU funding. The road is to be handed over to drivers in 2021.
In turn, the Tomaszów Lubelski bypass will cost over PLN 281 million, of which over PLN 118 million is EU funding. The 9.58 km bypass will improve safety and traffic conditions on the S17 road. It will also shorten travel times in local and transit traffic. The road is to be opened for traffic in April 2021.
The construction of the Kępno bypass will cost PLN 183 million, of which PLN 97 million will be covered by the Infrastructure and Environment Program. The 8.14 km long road is to be available to drivers in May 2021.
The construction of the Niemodlin bypass along the national road 46 will cost over PLN 299 million, of which over PLN 241 million is EU funding. The 11.49 km long investment will relieve the city from excessive road traffic and will be put into operation in 2021.
