The English football club Manchester City has agreed to sell the Portuguese representative Joao Cancelo to the Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal. According to the DPA group, the value of the transfer reached 25 million US dollars.

The 30-year-old defender joined Manchester in 2019 from Juventus Turin. In 2021 and 2022, he helped City win Premier League titles. However, he spent the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan at Bayern Munich and was loaned to Barcelona last year. Cancelo represented his country at Euro 2024 in Germany, where Portugal were knocked out in the quarter-finals by France.
