OSLO – French biathlete Anais Chevalier-Bouchet is another star for whom the upcoming final competition weekend of the World Cup in Oslo will be a career farewell at the same time.

The 30-year-old athlete’s collection lacks a large gold medal, but she has three precious metals from the Olympic Games and seven from the World Championships.

She announced her decision today on Instagram, and the announcement came only a day after Olympic and world champions Marte Olsbuová Röiselandová from Norway and Denise Herrmannová-Wicková from Germany announced the end of their careers.

“I have a new life ahead of me and I can’t wait to see what it will be like” said the French woman, who won the only individual SP race in her career, in December 2016 in Novi Mesto in Moravia in a fighter. But she celebrated another twelve championships in team races.

Chevalier-Bouchet won silver medals in the endurance race at last year’s Beijing Olympics and, as a member of the mixed relay, was third with the women’s relay at PyeongChang 2018.

She has three silvers and four bronzes from the World Championships, with the exception of Östersund 2019, where she started pregnant, she has won a valuable metal at every top event since 2016, including this year. In February in Oberhof, she finished third with the mixed relay.
