Another Balkan country is tightening measures over a new K-19 boom

The number of newly infected with coronavirus in Slovenia is increasing every day and therefore new rules for entry into restaurants and gambling halls come into force on Monday, and restrictions on the accommodation of tourists are introduced, BTA reported.

In the last 24 hours, 93 cases of infection were confirmed and one patient died.

Compared to the situation seven days ago, the number of newly infected in the last 24 hours has increased by 52% and is the largest for this month after Tuesday, when 110 new cases were registered.
The number of positive tests has increased and is now five percent.

So far, 190,000 people have been vaccinated, ie 37.4% of the population, which is estimated to be insufficient to protect the population before a possible new wave in the autumn and the more dangerous Delta variant of the coronavirus.

Therefore, the government is introducing new measures and restrictions in some activities.

As of Monday, the rule is introduced that restaurants, gambling halls, tourist accommodation and some outdoor activities where more people gather cannot visit people who have not been vaccinated against KOVID-19, have not fallen ill or people without confirmation for a negative test for the last 48 hours.

The organizers and owners of the sites will be responsible for the implementation of the decision.

According to official data, 831 people are currently infected in Slovenia. Since the beginning of the pandemic in the country, according to official data, a total of 4427 people have died from coronavirus.
