A disturbing incident occurred at former President Donald J. Trump’s golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida. Secret Service agents opened fire on an armed man hiding in the bushes surrounding the club. Trump may have needed a bulletproof vest, but he was unharmed and returned safely to Mar-a-Lago. The FBI is investigating the case and is classifying it as another suspected assassination attempt on the former president. Trump’s campaign confirmed that he was unharmed in Sunday’s incident in West Palm Beach. The incident comes just over two months after a previous assassination attempt at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. According to officials, Secret Service agents opened fire on the suspect, who was armed with a rifle and hiding in the bushes. The man fled and was arrested a short time later. A press conference by Sheriff Ric Bradshaw of Palm Beach County revealed details: An agent who was ahead of Trump on his golf tee shots spotted the barrel of a gun sticking out of a fence at around 1:30 p.m. The suspect fled in a black Nissan; it is unclear whether he also fired shots. Donald Trump’s campaign office in West Palm Beach was secured and cordoned off, while he himself returned safely to his Mar-a-Lago estate. Authorities are now trying to find out where the gun came from and who bought it. At the crime scene, investigators discovered a semi-automatic rifle with a telescopic sight, two backpacks with ceramic tiles and a video camera. It is suspected that the perpetrator wanted to film the incident.
