Another 5.2 magnitude earthquake shakes Turkey

Earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 shook Turkey. It happened 29 km from Antakya and 74 km from Latakia, Syria.

The epicenter was at a depth of about 10 kilometers in the Mediterranean Sea and about 5 kilometers from the Turkish coast, in the Hatay district area.

According to the Syrian National Seismological Center, the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.4, BTA reported. It was felt in parts of the Syrian province of Idlib and in some areas of Lebanon.

People in Idlib have taken to the streets in panic. The tremor was registered at 21:47 local time.

After this tremor, several buildings that were damaged by the earthquakes on February 6 collapsed, world agencies reported. So far, there are no reports of casualties.

Earthquakes of 7.8 and 7.2 on the Richter scale

Nearly 42,000 are already the number of victims after the devastating earthquakes. Of these, 36,200 are in Turkey and about 5,500 in Syria.

In the midst of tragedy, miracles continue to happen. In Kahramanmaras, a 17-year-old girl was pulled alive from the rubble 248 hours after the quake.

In 10 days after the disaster, nearly 5,000 healthy babies were born in Turkey.

Thanks to the safe construction, the hospitals withstood the powerful earthquake and treated nearly 90,000 victims there.
