The municipality of Ponte de Lima now registers 17 more confirmed cases of infection with the new coronavirus in 48 hours, O MINHO learned from the Alto Minho Local Health Unit (ULSAM). There is yet another death to mourn, a user of Lar Nossa Senhora da Conceição (Casa da Caridade).
According to the ULSAM report, the municipality rose from 145 cases released last Monday, at 7 pm, to 162 registered at 7 pm this Wednesday.
There are five deaths since the beginning of the pandemic, plus one in the last 48 hours.
The number of recovered people rose from 136 to 137, that is, there is only one more infected who is said to have been cured.
In total, since the beginning of the pandemic, Ponte de Lima has recorded 304 cases, 18 more than on Monday.
Agostinho Freitas, president of the Casa da Caridade management, confirmed to O MINHO that the death registered in the municipality was of a user of that home.
“She was a lady in her 85s, with poor health. He died yesterday and was confirmed to be a covid-19, ”he told our newspaper.
It is the only death recorded in that home compared to the covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.
“There was a death a few days ago in another home, in Refóios, but it was not because of the covid”, he assured.
Agostinho Freitas indicated that all users and employees were tested today and that tomorrow, “in principle”, new tests will be known.
It is recalled that the Lar da Nossa Senhora da Conceição recorded 72 positive cases among users and employees.
