The new week will start with unusually high temperatures for the beginning of the year.
In its first half, the average monthly temperature in the country is expected to be 8-10 degrees above the climatic norm. The prevailing maximum temperatures in the coming week will be between 12 ° and 18 ° С. Due to the unusually warm weather in our country, temperature records are possible. The weather is expected to change by the end of the week, Meteo Balkans writes.
During the night before Monday the clouds in the country will be broken, and in many places it will decrease to clear weather. After the westerly wind stops after midnight in the Danube plain, visibility will be temporarily reduced. The expected minimum temperatures in the country will be between 4 ° and 8 °. Morning temperatures in Western Bulgaria are expected to be lower – up to 3-4 ° С.
During the day on Monday, the fog around the river basins will rise quickly and sunny weather will prevail over the country. More clouds are expected in Eastern Bulgaria, but no precipitation is expected.
The wind during the day will be moderate, and in the Danube plain – to temporarily strong from the west. Temperatures will rise and the expected maximum will be between 12-17 ° С.
Transfer of warmer air mass from the south-southwest will significantly increase the temperatures on the Balkan Peninsula. In Tuesday and Wednesday sunny weather will prevail over the country, with fogs in the morning. More clouds are expected in Southern and Eastern Bulgaria and in the mountains, but the clouds will be mostly medium and high and no precipitation is expected.
Minimum temperatures in the country will be between 3 ° and 8 °, and the maximum will increase by 2-3 and will reach values up to 12 ° – 18 °.
During both days the weather in the mountains will be mostly sunny and great for tourism and winter sports. However, due to high temperatures and heavy snowmelt, the risk of avalanches will be very high. We expect more significant clouds in the afternoon over the Rhodopes and in the Central Stara Planina, but it will remain without precipitation. The wind around noon will intensify to strong from the south-southwest and will warm up. The maximum temperature at an altitude of about 1200-1300 meters above sea level will be about 9-12 °, at 2000 meters – about 6 °.
The weather in Thursday will start with the sun, but in the morning in places in the Upper Thracian lowlands and near the Danube the visibility will be temporarily reduced. We expect more clouds around noon and in the afternoon, and the clouds will start from the northwest. The wind will intensify and temperatures will start to drop. It will rain in Western and Central Bulgaria by evening. Temperatures in the country will fall, but will remain higher than usual for the first half of January.
A temporary cessation of precipitation is expected in Friday but even then it will remain cloudy. The decrease in temperatures will continue and the maximum will be between 5-9 ° С.
