In a difficult geopolitical and economic context, the German group relied on the growing security and connectivity markets, in particular, to record good financial results.
The German group Rohde & Schwarz has just announced the closure of its 2022/2023 fiscal year, which ended on June 30, with a turnover of 2.78 billion euros and a positive operating result in line with expectations – but not specified –, for a global workforce of approximately 13,800 people.

The group highlights in particular the surpassing, for the first time in its history, of the 3 billion euro mark in order intake. And this given the geopolitical uncertainties and difficult economic conditions of 2022 and 2023.
Rohde & Schwarz’s diversified test and measurement portfolio contributed to a strong fiscal year. Although the wireless communications market has declined, particularly on the production side due to the global economic situation, aerospace and defense manufacturers have continued to invest in this market segment and the automotive industry is the driving force of the transition to electromobility and the development of autonomous vehicles.
Other areas of development for the German group include investments in a vertical integration strategy, to respond to difficulties in supply chains, and in the development and use of new technologies such as frequencies beyond 100 GHz, 6G, microelectronics, artificial intelligence (AI) – Rohde & Schwarz has also invested in the analysis of big data and AI with the acquisition of Schönhofer Sales & Engineering (SSE).
Finally, taking into account social and environmental effects in its economic activities is reflected, for Rohde & Schwarz, in particular through the design of sustainable products and energy supplies that preserve resources.
