Family remittances registered a total of 3,297.9 million dollars (million dollars) last January, which meant an increase of 25.8 percent compared to the accumulated in the same month of 2020 (2 thousand 620.9 million dollars), according to with the Economic report of the Center for Public Finance Studies (CEFP) of the Chamber of Deputies.
Similarly, in January 2021 the average remittance was 343 dollars, a figure higher by 6.5 percent compared to the same month of the previous year (322 dollars) and 4 dollars more in relation to the figure of December 2020 (339 Dollars).
This study also reveals that in the first month of 2021, 9 million 611.6 operations were registered, a number that is 18.2 percent higher than in January of last year (8 thousand 134.8 operations). According to the Bank of Mexico (Banxico), the capital sent by national workers from abroad comes mainly from the United States.
However, the record of family remittances in January 2021 is the lowest since April 2020 (2 thousand 909.5 million dollars); in that year the highest was in March with 4 thousand 44.8 million dollars, while the lowest was pointed in the first month with 2 thousand 620.9 million dollars.
