Annual Meeting of Figeac Collectors: Review of 2023 and Plans for 2024

You don’t change a winning team… This is what the collectors of Figeac and its surroundings thought, who gathered on Sunday, November 5 in the Marie Laborde room, for their general meeting.

After a short welcome, President Maurice Chevallier gave two new members a welcome gift, before excusing the emblematic founder of the club and honorary president Maurice Borie.

He then gave a broad tour of the various activities and events of 2023, with its two highlights, the spring show organized in the Agora room at Capdenac-Gare, where 400 visitors attended, and the 41st national show in Figeac, which , on May 18, saw more than 1,200 visitors crowding around the stands of 150 exhibitors, installed in the Mitterrand space. It is comforting to see that despite the internet and despite all the sad, unfortunate or dramatic events that follow one another, this event represents for many, a rather cultural oasis of exchange and serenity.

Figeac collectors also frequented some neighboring fairs, while also enjoying the year with outings to various flea markets and other tourist places.

In turn, the treasurer Jean-Jacques Pestel displayed an infectious smile, listing revenues and expenses, which showed an excellent positive result.

The two activity and financial reports unanimously approved, nothing stood in the way of the re-election of the existing office, in its entirety.

Finally, the president returned to the forecast calendar for 2024, with the spring show which will be held on Sunday March 3 in Cajarc and the national show in Figeac on Thursday May 9, Ascension Day. The club will join in the program of activities planned for the 80th anniversary of the Rafle e Figeac of May 12, 1944, by dedicating the commemorative card of the show to it. Members just had to treat themselves to a little ratafia, before heading to Marinette’s Table for an excellent meal.
