Annual collection from the Diabetes Fund

The Diabetes Fund will also collect in Uithoorn, De Kwakel and Amstelhoek during the week of October 14 to October 19.

This year, over 60 collectors in our area will come to you again with the collection box. We kindly ask that you donate to research, improve the quality of life, prevent and cure all types of diabetes!

Unfortunately, this is badly needed because despite all efforts, the number of diabetes (in all its forms) continues to grow! With approximately 1.2 million diabetics in the Netherlands, it is unfortunately still the number 1 public disease.

Diabetes is a metabolic disease in which the ratio between the sugar glucose and the hormone insulin is out of balance. Often the problems can be limited with lifestyle changes and/or medication. Some types of diabetes can even be cured. On the other hand, there is no such thing as a “little diabetic patient”! A research result in 2021 showed that 39,000 diabetics die prematurely every year due to complications; such as kidney failure, heart failure, breakdown, etc.

Collectors can be identified by their collection box and identification card. The QR code allows you to donate without money.
