Annual Classic Car Rally Draws Enthusiasts to Valverde de Leganés

Valverde de Leganés has once again been the destination of a new concentration of classic vehicles, which has been organized by Club El Corzo and in which the Peña ‘4 Marches’ has collaborated, in which a local resident is active.

The rain disrupted the plans, which were initially to reach Valverde, take an interurban route and take the rally to the Almendro Real parking lot, so that the participants could travel to the specimen and enjoy it. But it rained for much of the morning, forcing the organization to change the program.

The concentration, finally, was in the San Roque Municipal parking lot, where the nearly 70 participating vehicles were located. Very striking and curious vehicles arrived such as Renault 10, Minis, Seat 127, Seat 600, Renault 4, Dodge 3700, or two of great value such as the Rolls Royce Corniche and the Mercedes 280 SE. The origin of the cars was very varied, coming from different points in the region, such as Cáceres, Valencia de Alcántara, Guareña, Don Benito, etc.

Among all of them there were three cars owned by Valverde. The 127 from 1980 of Jesús Rivero Jimeno, the Opel Vectra of Alberto Moreno Torres, and the BMW 735 of Carlos González Reyes.

During the rally, many residents passed through the area to view the relics, photograph them, chat and meet the owners, and even negotiate the occasional purchase and sale.
