TOLUCA, State of Mexico.- The will to help save lives made it possible for 287 attendees to join the Annual Altruistic Blood Donation Collection 2023, convened by the Social Security Institute of the State of Mexico and Municipalities (ISSEMyM).
After the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a significant decrease in the supply of the vital liquid, so this year the culture of altruistic donation was reinforced to improve supply levels in ISSEMyM hospitals, through three collection centers .
In this sense, during the collection yesterday, held at the ISSEMyM Toluca Medical Center and at the Regional Hospital of the same city, 171 volunteers were received; while in the June edition held at the State Cancer Center, the participation was 116 attendees.

The objective of this activity is to provide hope and support for those people who are fighting for their lives or who are in the battle against complex diseases such as cancer, which is why the proceeds will be used for transfusion of cancer patients, for surgeries of high risk or for beneficiaries hospitalized in critical condition who require it.
With this effort, the ISSEMyM makes a real and tangible difference in the health of patients who come to hospitals, for which it recognizes and thanks all donors for sharing hope with those who need it most.
“Donate blood, donate plasma, share it frequently. It is an act of generosity that makes it possible to achieve dreams and take care of families”, said specialists from this Institute.
