A Kremlin-appointed official in the region Ukraine occupied by Russian troops, government officials criticized Russia. The official even suggested the defense minister Sergej Shoiguclose ally of the President Vladimir Putinto take his own life in shame of Russia’s defeat in the war in Ukraine.
As reported ReutersOn Friday (7/10/2022), the Russian invasion of Ukraine has been underway for more than seven months, but the main objectives have not been achieved. Russian troops have instead suffered a series of defeats in fighting in different parts of Ukraine in recent months, forcing Putin to declare a partial military mobilization.
Kirill Stremousov, deputy head of the Kherson region, which has just been annexed by Russia, was harshly criticized in a four-minute video message. Stremousov was appointed by the Kremlin to office.

In a rare public critique, Stremousov lashed out at Moscow’s “generals and ministers” for failing to understand the issues at the forefront of the fighting in Ukraine.
“Indeed, many say: if the defense minister were to allow such a situation, they could, as officers, shoot themselves,” said Stremousov, 45.
“But you know the word ‘official’ is a word that a lot of people don’t understand.”
