Beirut: “The Gulf”
The European Union Delegation to Lebanon announced, in a statement yesterday, the organization of the twenty-eighth European Film Festival from September 25 to October 4, in partnership with the Metropolis Cinema Association, and in cooperation with the member states of the European Union.
The festival opens with the Spanish film “Ramona” by director Andrea Bagni, which won the Best Screenplay Award at the Rome Film Festival in 2022.
In its twenty-eighth session, the festival includes a variety of screenings and events that include 27 recent feature films from Europe, allowing the audience to watch films that have won awards at the most important international festivals, as well as the first or second productions of emerging directors.
The festival allocates three awards to films participating in the short film competition, giving the winners the opportunity to attend a leading international film festival in Europe in 2024, with the support of the Goethe Institute – Lebanon, the French Institute and the Embassy of Poland in Lebanon.
