THE NEW DIARY, HIGÜEY. -The director of the General Hospital and Specialties Our Lady of La Altagracia (HGENSA) from Higüey, Juan Santana said this Friday that a Chemotherapy Unit for patients with breast cancer will be enabled in the health center.
According to the press release, in order to enable the unit, the health professional, together with the provincial governor, Martína Pepén Santana, senator Virgilio Cedano, and Andrea Guerrero, president of the Association of Women in Conquest of Success, He toured various areas of the hospital to determine in which area the place where oncological therapies will be given will be enabled.
Pepén Santana said that “President Luis Abinader is determined to install this much-needed unit, in response to a request made by the president of the Andrea Peña Women’s Association, which has embraced this fight for a long time.”
“That is why we are channeling all the media today so that soon this is a fact,” he said.
Meanwhile, the legislator Virgilio Cedano said that he is very committed to this cause that seems fair and highlighted the receptivity of Dr. Santana in providing ample space so that in the coming days they begin to adapt the areas and hire clinical oncologists who can guarantee chemotherapy treatments to those they need.
Likewise, the representatives of the Association of Women in Conquest of Success said they felt hopeful at the steps that the authorities of La Altagracia are doing so that the “Chemotherapy Unit” becomes a reality and that “it works definitively in our hospital.”
