The application for the competition of young music groups and performers “Hadrons 2021” has been announced, “Delfi” informed the organizers of the competition from Radio NABA.

For more than 15 years, Radio NABA in cooperation with the LU Student Council has been inviting young musicians to take serious steps in the ambitious world of music – to develop stage skills, perform at festivals, make a recording in a professional studio and create a video. Musical associations and individual performers can apply for the competition until April 26 on the website “Hadrons.lv”.
The competition is open to any group of musicians, individual performers or projects involving at least one student representative who have not released full-length albums. From the submitted applications and sound recordings, the six best will be selected, who will participate in the final concert on May 18 in the form of live video and audio from the Latvian Radio 1st studio.
The winner of the competition will be additionally given paid recording time in the studio, the opportunity to perform at the festival “Laba daba”, the festival “Bildes” and the festival of young students of the University of Latvia “Aristotle”. The winner is provided with special support on Radio NABA, on the portal “lsm.lv” and in the creation of a new video.
During the competition, the new groups, performers and musical projects will be evaluated by music industry professionals from Latvia – musicians, journalists, producers, radio NABA and student representatives. To apply for the competition, you must get acquainted with the competition regulations and fill in the application form by April 26 – Hadrons.lv.
The competition has been taking place for the sixteenth year and in total more than 300 groups have participated in it. Previous years’ winners – “Effekts”, “Nostra”, “The Creek”, “MMMM”, “Chomsky Chess Club”, “No”, “DJ Krankenwagen”, “Minor Anna”, “Sparmetis”, “Das Sonntags Legion” , “The Movies” (later “Tribes of the city”), “Shadow Kaleidoscope” – after that they also released recordings and became known both in Latvia and abroad.
