Shopee will charge a service fee of IDR 1,000 for each physical product transaction via the Shopee website or application. The imposition of this tax starts from 23 October.

“Starting October 23, 2022 at 00:00 WIB, Shopee will apply a service fee to develop our technology to better serve customers,” Shopee wrote quoted Monday (10/24/2022).
The announcement also stipulated that this service fee will be charged to users who have made 4 transactions starting from having an account with us Shopee using any payment method with no minimum purchase.
This service fee does not apply to digital product transactions such as financing, zakat and donations. Except for digital product transactions included in the purchase of physical products.
“The service charge includes the cost of value added tax (VAT) in accordance with the provisions of the tax legislation in force,” he wrote.
Shopee also mention that if the order in the transaction is canceled or the funds are returned in full, the service fee will also be refunded.
Then, if the transaction is canceled or partially refunded, the service fee will be refunded pro rata.
For your information, the cost of this service is different and does not include management fees.
