The Maas Foundation is pleased to announce this time the open call for international applications for the 2024 Maas International Theater Festival which will be held on April 24-27, 2024 in Lahore-Pakistan. MITF 2024 is open to all kinds of theater performances, including theater for young audiences, theater for adults, monodrama, sensory theater, mimes, contemporary, etc.
Terms and Conditions of Participation in the Festival:
1- The work must adhere to the specified theater space and the technical logistics available from the festival administration, as well as the assigned performance times. perform only once in the morning or in the evening, depending on the logistics of the festival administration.
2- The festival administration will provide local transportation, accommodation with 3 meals for (8) eight participants, including the artists and the backstage team on a shared basis.
3- Participating countries will cover their own travel and shipping costs, insurance and Visa fees (if applicable) to and from Lahore city.
4- The company must deliver a complete file that includes the Curriculum Vitae (CV) attached plus the text of the performance in a Word file (Script in English), as well as a complete technical file that explains the complete dimensions of the stage and the space required for the performance, along with details of the time required to remove and install the equipment on stage.
5- The duration of the performances should not exceed an hour and a half (90 minutes).
6- Priority will be given to non-verbal or plays in English that also have creative and innovative solutions.
7- The work must be appropriate to the nature and culture of Pakistan.
8- The festival administration has the power to dispose of the audio and video recordings of theatrical performances, workshops and seminars and use them in accordance with the vision of the festival.
9- It is required to provide a subtitled digital translation of the participating submission in English ((if the submission is not in English) after selection.
10- The festival administration has the right to reject any application that is not suitable for the festival criteria without any given justification.
11- In case of withdrawal, the company must present a formal letter of apology for a minimum of (60) days before the start date of the festival.
12- The festival management will only notify the selected companies before December 5, 2023.
13- The festival management is not responsible for the issuance of the Pakistan visa, but will provide all the necessary documents related to the host for the visa.
14- The festival management is not responsible for the transportation of the round-trip equipment, nor for the shipment of the decoration or personal props from their countries of origin.
15- The participating troupes must commit to attend the morning activities of the festival (Workshops and Seminars) for a minimum of 2 people.
16- Selected teams must comply with the requirement to provide passport copies of all participants prior to the issuance of a formal invitation letter.
