At the Final Fantasy Fan Fest 2023 event, not only the news about the release of the popular MMORPG on Xbox was heard, but also the announcement of the next expansion.
What is known
Square Enix has announced the Dawntrail add-on for Final Fantasy XIV.
The DLC will bring a lot of new content to the game:
a new large-scale location will appear – the tropical Tural area, where cities, sandy beaches and settlements of indigenous people from the Pelupelu tribe (Final Fantasy X) are located; two new professions; the maximum level of the character will increase from 90 to 100 and many new skills will appear; the game will introduce new enemies, dungeons, equipment, recipes, potions, raids and much more.
In addition to content innovations, with the release of Dawntrail, Square Enix will begin to significantly improve the technical part of Final Fantasy XIV: graphics, lighting, quality of textures and shadows, the appearance of characters, player characters and locations.
Due to technical improvements, the minimum system requirements of the game will also change. They will not grow critically, so the developers will continue to support the PlayStation 4 version.
When to expect
The Dawntrail expansion is slated for release in Summer 2024. The exact date is unknown, but it will likely happen at the same time that Final Fantasy XIV is released on Xbox.
