Thursday’s announcement of the expansion of the use of the Covid Safe Ticket (CST) in Wallonia has led to 4,000 appointments in 24 hours for a vaccination. That is a fivefold increase compared to the 800 appointments per day in recent weeks. Walloon Health Minister Christie Morreale has announced this through her spokesperson.

In addition, the vaccination centers received a lot of people on Thursday afternoon and Friday who did not have an appointment. In addition, the figures for temporary antennas in universities, colleges and certain municipalities with a low vaccination rate are “encouraging”. From Monday to Friday there were 5,000 registrations in the antennas of Namur, Luxembourg, Mons and Verviers.

After the Brussels government, the Walloon government announced on Thursday the expansion of the CST in mid-October in various sectors such as the catering industry, dance halls and discotheques, hospitals, residential care centers, sports and fitness centers. “The CST is an additional means of protecting the population from the virus, a means of returning to normal life, of living together, and I hope to end the health crisis. It is of course very positive to see that the announcement of the Covid Safe Ticket in 24 hours is leading to significant positive results in terms of vaccination appointments in the coming days and weeks. Vaccination is the only solution to get back to normal life,” explained Christie Morreale.
