Yoshida confirmed that Square Enix is already working on not only a port of the game, but also two paid story DLCs that will allow players to learn more about the world of Valistea, as well as spend more time with the characters. Details about the PC version and add-ons are promised to be shared by the end of 2023.
In addition, a free update will be released for Final Fantasy XVI soon with a number of innovations:
the ability to change the appearance of Clive’s weapon to the skin of any other weapon in the inventory, while maintaining the characteristics of the equipped one; additional type of weapon – “Onion Sword”; alternative skins for several characters (with the ability to switch between two skins at any time); a number of improvements, including additional control layouts on the controller.
The release of Final Fantasy XVI on PS5 took place at the end of June. Earlier, Yoshida himself mentioned that Square Enix would not mind porting the game to PC, but the development of the port was not officially announced.
