Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Starting today, the emergency department (IGD) of Fatmawati Hospital, South Jakarta, only accepts patients Covid-19. The policy was carried out to reduce the transmission of the virus in hospitals.
“The emergency department of Fatmawati Hospital is currently only accepting patients with confirmed COVID-19 with moderate, severe, and critical symptoms,” said Head of Legal, Organization and Public Relations Section of Fatmawati Hospital, Iwan Rusmana, when contacted, Tuesday (22/6/2021) .
“This is because currently there is an increase in the number of confirmed Covid-19 patients and these patients exceed the total capacity of the Covid-19 treatment room, especially at Fatmawati Hospital. By exceeding this capacity and to avoid transmission in the treatment rooms, steps are taken, ” he continued.
The hospital recommends confirmed COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms to go to Wisma Atlet, while patients without symptoms can self-isolate. However, Iwan said his party could accept Covid-19 patients as long as the emergency room capacity was still available.
“Covid-19 patients can be admitted to Fatmawati Hospital if the emergency room capacity is still available. General/non-Covid patients who enter through the ER will temporarily be directed to nearby hospitals to avoid Covid-19 transmission/transmission,” he said.
Furthermore, Iwan said Fatmawati Hospital provided 261 beds for Covid-19 treatment. The details, 9 beds in the ventilator ICU, 109 beds in the non-ventilator ICU, 53 beds in negative pressure isolation, and 90 beds in isolation without negative pressure.
“Currently, the number of Covid-19 patients at Fatmawati Hospital has exceeded capacity,” said Iwan.
