The Ivorians are angry with the famous Nigerian star Wizkid, known under the pseudonym Star Boy.
Indeed, the host and humorist Willy Dumbo appeared on the stage which was to host Wizkid and his musicians for his scheduled concert at the Sofitel Abidjan Hotel Ivoire on Sunday 11 October 2022 at 19:00.
However, the Nigerian star and his staff have conspicuous with a more than notable absence. Tired of waiting for their arrival, Willy Dumbo, a well-known character in the Ivory Coast, took the podium, precisely to put an end to the disenchantment with the late arrival of the Nigerian singer.
Very upset, he told fans who paid big money to attend the star’s concert that their artist will not be there. She stated:
The private jet got paid, Wizkid got paid, his musicians got paid. All taxes have been paid. Wizkid was due to play in Abidjan before going to Cotonou. (…) I can’t ask you to stay for someone who doesn’t respect you. Sincerely, I will ask and guarantee that you speak on behalf of the entire organizing committee.

For once, the stone shouldn’t be thrown at the organizing committee, it must be said. (…) But rest assured, the rest of Wizkid’s staff is in Abidjan. And until the wrong is righted, they won’t budge. We don’t have to give a damn about the Ivorians anymore. You can’t pay 50,000, 100,000 and have someone like that laugh at us. It’s enough.
And he ended his speech with an insult:
If he wants, he just has to stay there. We don’t give a damn about him, let’s put our finger in him…
said Willy Dumbo very sorry. However, a video of Wizkid shot at 10pm Côte d’Ivoire time heralded the arrival of him…
