The Gallagher brothers can warm up: “Evil” Jared Hasselhoff has announced unequivocally that his Bloodhound Gang will be causing musical unrest again in the near future.
If Oasis’ feuding Noel (57) and Liam Gallagher (52) can do it, why shouldn’t the Bloodhound Gang do the same? The band members of the scandalous group, which gained international recognition with their childlike, ambiguous songs at the end of the 90s, also seem to have thought that. Bassist “Evil” Jared Hasselhoff (53) casually announced “the biggest music news of the year” on his official Instagram account.
“What could it be?” “Evil” Jared asks his followers in the announcing video, meaningfully and as offensive as usual: “The Oasis reunion? Oh well, that might be big news in Manchester. Is it the Danny Masterson sympathizer , who is the new singer of Linkin Park? Could it be Dave Grohl’s repeated and inexplicable adulteries? It’s all just minor things, because the news of the year is, of course, “The announcement you’ve all been waiting for a decade for. It’s: The Bloodhound Gang is back, bitches!”
Extended waiting time
In fact, things had become extremely quiet around the American band from Pennsylvania, which was formed in 1992, but the group never officially broke up. Lead singer and founding member Jimmy Pop (52) was hardly present in public anymore, but “Evil” Jared, who joined the band in 1995, was even more so. The now 53-year-old lives in Germany and took part in various ProSieben formats as a guest. He most recently took part in the RTLzwei show “Battle of the Reality Stars” in 2021.
The current five-piece band’s greatest success came in 1999 with “The Bad Touch”. The accompanying album “Hooray for Boobies” made it to the top of the charts in Germany, among others. The last album to date, “Hard-Off,” dates back to 2015. “Evil” Jared has so far left it open what form the now announced comeback will take. So it could either be a new tour or a new album – or even both.
