Police officers who bring a birthday present… The association Anniversaries is definitely capable of anything to please sick children. “Look at the happiness on his face, there is no need to explain anything else”, smiles Samirra Abdouni, the president of the structure, contemplating the illuminated features of Moussa, 4 years old. That day, this little guy spent at the Watteau community center a birthday like he had never known.
“It’s the first time he’s really celebrated it!” explains Hayat, her mother moved to tears. Ordinarily, Annivœux volunteers come to the hospital to celebrate the birthdays of seriously ill little ones against all odds. But Moussa has just left the pediatric ward and was sad not to be able to take advantage of this opportunity. Never mind, the association has decided to organize a small reception outside for once.
“Usually we are asked for superheroes or princesses. The police is the first time! »
Thus the toddler was able to celebrate both his recovery and his 4th birthday! “He is in remission, we learned two days ago,” says his mother, referring to the neuroblastoma from which her son has suffered since the age of a year and a half. “We were moved by his story, Moussa spent three quarters of his life in the hospital”, points out Samirra Abdouni.
And to satisfy the little boy, the association wanted to stick to the profession that makes him dream the most. “Usually we are always asked for superhero or princess themes. The police is the first time! » laughs the president. The surprise was big for the agents of the Sarcelles police station too. They are more used to being invited to birthday parties because of the fuss.
“But it’s really great to come in this context! We are very happy, recognizes Clément, one of the two police officers who came to meet Moussa at the request of Annivœux. It’s really good to see that children like the police. Moussa is not about to forget this afternoon organized just for him.
