Event. Concert halls will be celebrated in Ventspils on Sunday, July 24 Latvia third birthday. The concert production was prepared in three parts by director Laura Groza and a tandem of artists Mareunrol’s – it will include both a performative commentary on observations during the pandemic and a look back at the events of the fusion of music and visual art experienced in the concert hall. Pianist Reinis Zariņš will perform at the concert. Jubilee Quartet (violinists Dina Dorofejeva and Kristina Zeltkalne, violist Helen Navicka and cellist Pēteris Ozoliņš), choir Ventspils and conductor Aigars Meri. The climax of the concert will be the performance of British organist James McWhinney and American composer Tristan Peritch. They will perform an opus Endless slope/Infinity Gradient – works for the stave organ and hundred speakers.

Classic. On Friday, July 22, the Jūrmala festival will host a concert by pianists Sergej, Andrej and Georgij Osokina. They will be joined by a chamber orchestra, with Beethoven, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Bach, Mozart and Lutoslavsky in the program. On Saturday, July 23, a selection of Broadway musicals will be played – British singing actors Sarah Fox and Earl Carpenter will take the stage. British conductor Roberts Perviss will be at the helm of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra.
