Thanks to this tight schedule, everything is running smoothly in the large family, which will soon be even bigger. Annemarie is in fact pregnant with her eighth child.
No question of faith
It is therefore not surprising that the couple is often asked whether they are sometimes religious with such a large number of children. “It has nothing to do with faith, it really happened to us. We had not planned in advance to have such a large family ”, explains Annemarie. Money does not play a role in the choice of another child either. “We do take it into account, but it was not a consideration for any child whether or not to do it.”
So no shortage of money, but of space now. “It is time for our oldest, Jim, to leave”, laughs Annemarie. After which Maarten already dreams of a distant future picture. “When we are 64, we go on a world tour, when all the children have left home.”
Eighth child
It also becomes more exciting with each subsequent pregnancy whether everything will go well given the age of Annemarie, who is 44 years old. “The older you get, the more risks it entails.” Yet the couple decides not to test whether the baby in her stomach has an abnormality. “Whatever the outcome, every child is welcome.”
