Anne Miquel-Val, Dasen des Hautes-Pyrénées: “We anticipate and unplug many situations”

the essential
Anne Miquel-Val, academic director of national education services in the Hautes-Pyrénées, was visiting the Honoré-Auzon school in Lourdes. The opportunity to reiterate the attention paid to any difficulties encountered by students, and in particular to potential cases of school harassment.

“Have you had any cases of school harassment?” asks the academic director of National Education Services (Dasen), Anne Miquel-Val. Cathy Leclercq, director of the Honoré-Auzon school, replied no. She adds: “Attention pays!”

Visiting the Lourdes school, Anne Miquel-Val would like to point out: “The school prevents a lot of things. We disconnect a lot of complicated situations, harassment, thanks to the work between elected officials, parents, extracurriculars, school…”

She adds: “When a child suffers, it’s already too much. But we anticipate with attention and reflection. Everything can play a role: the organization of recess, turnover in teams…”

Joint training between teachers, Atsem and facilitators

Cathy Leclercq agrees: “We actually talk a lot with extracurricular agents to unblock situations.” Sylvie Mazurek, deputy mayor of Lourdes, specifies: “There is consideration of the child’s arrival, during after-school time which begins at 7:30 a.m., until his exit, when the parents pick him up There is very strong consultation work between Simaje and National Education.”

National Education Inspector Catherine Lavit adds: “Joint training exists for kindergarten teachers and Atsem. Last year, we invited after-school leaders.”

Anne Miquel-Val congratulates: “These multi-category training courses are exemplary and innovative. There are no precarious workers. Everyone must work together to support the children.”

Extracurricular activities also contribute to the child’s success

Working hand in hand to better support the child and detect possible complex situations, including that of school bullying.

But beyond the agents, it is indeed an environment as a whole that contributes to the child’s academic success. The name of the school, that of the resistance fighter Honoré Auzon, its typical Lourdes architecture, but also this remarkable plane tree at its entrance… So many elements which open up the child’s horizons.

Dasen underlines: “The success of the student requires both the program, with fundamental and sporting skills and knowledge, transmitted by the teachers. But the ecosystem and the establishment of a school in a territory strengthen all these actions.”

Moreover, the tree was the subject of educational work, around a work of art, but also a fresco created within the school. Which makes Anne Miquel-Val say: “Simaje contributes to promoting cultural actions with outings and trips. Extracurricular, extracurricular and school activities participate together in the training and acquisition of knowledge by students from Lourdes. . We must be aware of it and value it.”
