Anne Lindmo was crushed when her son moved out:

When you have spent several years under the same roof, it can be difficult to let go of the children. Anne Lindmo (51) experienced this painfully when her eldest son Eivind was in the military.

The popular NRK presenter is among the guests at Solveig Kloppen (50) in this week’s One night at Kloppen.

During the dinner with Kloppen and the other guests, Raymond Johansen (60) and Ella Marie Hætta Isaksen (23), the mother of two opens up about her son who moved out of the childhood home.

– I was prepared for that. You know that, when the boy finishes school and goes to the Armed Forces, he will run away. I knew what date it was, I knew it was going to happen, and I related to it as a rational person, she says.

But then it dawned on the bubbly 51-year-old what was about to happen:

– I went on a mountain hike and then I called home, and then Hasse, my husband said: “Now we drive and pack down Eivind’s room, because now he’s going.” And then it was like, “Okay, so now we’re there.” Then I started laughing, she shares frankly, and continues:

– Then I sat in the car and had to drive home for six or seven hours, and then I called Hasse: «Our little child, do you remember how small he was? He dressed like a bear and thought he was scary. He was not scary at all. And he said: “Keep your hands on the steering wheel now and then you will see the road, and then you will get on Valdresflye, and then we will see each other soon.”

Heavy farewell

The talk show queen further says that she hit on Kari Bremnes’ “It’s my son”, which is about a mother who sends her son off to the military.

Crying in the car, she called her husband again.

– “Now I’m at Beitostølen”. He (Hasse, journ.anm.) Just: “Are you still crying?”.

Finally, the time had come to say goodbye.

– And then we packed the bag, and then it was “Have it then, mom”, Lindmo says.
