Twenty-eight days after throwing himself into the source of the Seine – in the Côte d’Or department – ​​the youngest of the three sons of the mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo entered the capital this Saturday in the middle of ‘afternoon. He was welcomed on the barge Marcounet, near Pont-Marie (IVth arrondissement). The head of the Hotel de Ville was also there to welcome her son.

A few hours earlier, he had received a warm welcome in Alfortville (Val-de-Marne) from the population. The city had also erected a sign in his honor.

After having already distinguished himself during a solo crossing of the English Channel in 9h47 at the age of 16 – thus becoming the youngest swimmer to have covered the 34 km which separate England from France – Arthur Germain s A new challenge was launched at the beginning of June: to cross the 780 km of the Seine in 52 days. A sporting but also ecological challenge. The objective is to make the general public aware of the environment and the cleanliness of the Seine and the rivers.

For now, he is holding his bet. The crossing of Paris was scheduled for the weekend of July 3 and 4. Every day, Arthur Germain does not fail to post his progress and his adventures in the Seine on social networks – on Twitter in particular – and on his website, where it is possible to see, live, its location, the distance it has traveled, and the path it has left before arriving at its destination: in the waters of Le Havre, the mouth of the river. He has until July 28 to do so. This is his challenge.
