Anne Heche suffered severe brain damage in her car accident last week. Her spokesperson says that the American actress is not expected to survive.
Heche, 53, is in a coma and has not regained consciousness since the accident. “It has long been her wish to donate her organs and she is being kept alive to determine if they are viable,” her spokesperson said.

The family thanks everyone for the get well wishes and for the good care in the hospital where she is staying. “Anne will be remembered for her brave honesty and her light will be missed,” the statement read.

Heche drove her car into a Los Angeles home last week. The accident caused a fire and the actress was taken to hospital in critical condition after the accident. Police previously reported that traces of narcotics were found in her blood.
