Invoking then rejecting in less than twenty-four hours the reactionary fad of “gender theory”, the Minister of Education has fueled harmful confusion about sexuality education and prevention against discrimination.
How can we create more confusion about sexuality education? By saying everything and its opposite, in less than twenty-four hours, about the content of the future education program for emotional, relational and sexual life. Wednesday, November 27, after having defended this program deemed “very complete”, the Minister of National Education, Anne Genetet, nevertheless supported her Minister Delegate for Academic Success, Alexandre Portier, who had just contradicted her on the subject.
The latter had assured a little earlier, during questions to the government in the National Assembly, that the text of this program should “to be seen again”. In good “father of the family”, he announced his commitment “personally so that gender theory does not find its place in our schools”, adding that the “activism” had no place there.
