Dear Prof. Lozanov,

Dear Ms. Stoyanova, Ms. Hadzhieva, Ms. Asenova and Ms. Vladimirova,

With this open letter, I take the liberty of addressing you, declaring my support for the license application of the only radio for classical music in Bulgaria – Klasik FM.

We should be proud that in Bulgaria for more than 18 years the Classic FM program has been a real support for culture and art. The authority of Classic FM, accumulated over the years with a lot of professionalism and dedication on the part of its team, is proof of the role of this radio not only on the air, but also as the creator of its own symphony orchestra with extremely active activity for 12 years already. Thanks to this wide-ranging cultural activity, the Bulgarian audience was able to see and hear for the first time on our stages world names such as Pinkas Zukerman, Maxim Vengerov, Shlomo Mintz, Misha Maisky, Joshua Bell, Midori, Nigel Kennedy and many other brilliant performers. The art of both prominent and still young Bulgarian artists is presented through the airwaves of Classic FM.

My career as an opera singer has given me opportunities to participate in numerous radio and television programs all over the world and believe me, I have rarely encountered professionalism of the level of that in the Bulgarian Classic FM.

At the same time, the Classic FM program never had its own frequency!

At the beginning of 1994, Klasik FM was broadcast initially on the waves of Radio Free Europe, and subsequently in the form of cooperation with the radio of Sofia University – Alma Mater.

I found out that Classic FM radio applied for the third time in a competition for a license in Sofia. The first two times, your committee judged that Classic FM did not deserve a license and other projects were ranked first in the competitions.

Please note that Classic FM is not a project. Classic FM is a realized cause that has won the attention and respect of the most educated and intelligent listening audience in Bulgaria.

In your hands now is the future of this unique program, as well as the opportunity to provide listeners with on-air access to the only radio station dedicated to the art of classical music.

With this letter, I appeal to all fellow musicians, as well as to the audience of Classic FM, to support this appeal with their signature.

With respect:

Anna Tomova – Sintova
