As part of the contemporary cross-genre festival “Liepāja Art Forum”, the exhibition “Milk Diaries” by Anna Priedola, a new media artist and docent of the University of Liepāja, can be seen in the art room “Civita Nova” of the Liepāja Concert Hall from September 29 to November 5. Dementia in statistics and stories’. Drawing on the author’s personal experience, it talks about such deep topics as aging and loneliness, dementia and changes in family relationships in the face of these natural life processes in audiovisual artworks and data visualizations.
The exhibition is closely related to this year’s motto of the festival “All birds sing beautifully”, which is an ode to the diverse and unique voices that exist in our world. Hearing the voices of dementia patients and their peers also leads to a more inclusive, socially just and sustainable world.
The organizer is Lielais dzintars in cooperation with the Latvian Center for Contemporary Art and the Fund for Open Society DOTS
