Stockholm’s governor Anna Kinberg Batra has received harsh criticism after Aftonbladet’s revelations that she recruited several friends to top jobs.
One of the jobs was advertised as a note in reception.

After the revelations about Anna Kinberg Batra’s recruitments, Aftonbladet has tried to get an interview with the governor. But she has always refused.
TV4 has also reported on several criticized recruitments. And on Tuesday, Kinberg Batra responded to the criticism in an interview in Efter fem in TV4.
– It is very sad that this crisis has arisen. It is, of course, a crisis of confidence. I take that very seriously, she says.
One of the jobs that Anna Kinberg Batra has been criticized for was only advertised through a note in the reception at the county administrative board.
But she does not agree that she deviated from the rules for recruitment.
– That’s not quite right. There is talk of a note but it is therefore called an advertisement, says Anna Kinberg Batra.
The planning manager who was hired at the time was an old friend of Kinberg Batra – Anna Borgs. She is described as a very close friend of Kinberg Batra, who is also godmother to one of the Borg’s children.
– Now it sounds like we hang out every day, we do that at work because we work a lot. But the important thing here was the competence needed in management.
“Sounds like an old friend, but…”
She gives a similar answer to questions about the recruitment of Gunnar Ekman. They also know each other from before and Kinberg Batra has helped Ekman write a book. Then she hired him with a monthly salary of SEK 90,000.
– It sounds like an old friend, but this is a doctoral researcher, she says, among other things.
– It is very important that it is the competence that counts. I have tried to do the right thing. Now the Ombudsman for Justice will also review this, and I think that is basically a good thing.
In conclusion, Kinberg Batra says that she is doing “a lot” about the problems that have arisen.
– We have started to have internal audits to avoid even risking making mistakes.
Fleeed the reporters’ questions
Aftonbladet was on site at the TV4 house during the broadcast. A couple of minutes later Anna Kinberg Batra came out, she did not want to answer any questions but went out of the entrance and further into a waiting car.
The news agency TT and a reporter from TV4 were also there and tried to get a comment from the governor.
