Next weekend Keyserlingk will conclude the indoor season in Leipzig at the German indoor championships for men and women, which she is already looking forward to. “The pressure is off now and I can jump up freely with the big ones; and also with an audience for the first time in a long time. It will definitely be great.”
Shared joy in double room number 123, because friend Tessa Srumf was also able to celebrate silver. After the 400-meter runner had brought herself into the A-final the day before with a confident performance and a good starting position, the Lanker did not start the race tactically too quickly, but lined up third after 150 meters, when all runners could went to the inside lane. In front, the favorite Anna Malia Hense from LGO Dortmund brought victory to the finish in 54.41 seconds. In the second lap, Srumf stayed behind Vivienne Morgenstern from Dresden before she started the final sprint on the home straight and was able to overtake the Saxon. In 54.86 seconds she ran under 55 seconds for the first time.

She has never been so fast in the open air before. Srumf, who has been part of the national squad NK1 for two years, but has so far regularly placed in the range of five to seven at national championships, celebrated her breakthrough accordingly. “Finally the long-awaited medal, it’s like a liberation.”

There was pure drama in the 800 meter final for the women’s youth, in which Hannah Odendahl missed the bronze medal in fourth by a hair’s breadth. In retrospect, it will be a little consoling that she also set an all-time best time of 2:10.64 minutes. Odendahl ran the last two laps together with Noa André from Stuttgart, but was beaten by two hundredths of a second in the end. Her trainer Udo Krumm was nevertheless full of praise: “Hannah really did everything right. That was all I could do.”

The race for first and second place was even closer. Only after evaluating the thousandths of a second was Jolanda Kallabis (Freiburg) ahead of Jana Becker (Wettenberg) declared the winner. The time of the two: 2:06.61 minutes.

The U20 hammer throw competition was unfortunate for Nele Frisch. As soon as she threw it in, she got stomach cramps. In the end, she found herself in the unpopular fourth place with 51.08 meters, just 60 centimeters behind bronze medalist Larissa Rollberg from Frankfurt.

Even after the 4 x 200 meter relay of LAV Bayer with Lynn Gramse, Anna Keyserlingk, Maxine Brune (Dormagen) and Tessa Srumf narrowly missed the bronze medal in fourth place, coach Peter Quasten drew a very positive balance: “One title and one runner-up is a top result for SC Bayer 05 Uerdingen. We will refine the wooden medals next time.”
